Adam Chaplin
Date: 10/14/2019 Viewed: DVD First viewing Note: I remember hearing about this movie when it was coming out in 2011 and I never saw it until now. This movie did not disappoint me because it was awesome. This movie was absolutely insane from start to finish because there is so much violence and gore in it. The movie is so over the top, gory, cheesy and edgy that I love every minute of it. Adam Chaplin is not meant to be high art and you can tell that the film makers of this movie had a blast making it. The story is simple and does not always make sense, but it is so much fun seeing everyone getting murder in the most over the top ways. This movie was like if Fist of the North Star and The Crow had a baby. The only thing that I did not like about the movie is some CG looks really bad. Not to mention, I feel like some blood in this movie looks like kool aid at times. Overall, I love this movie to death. If you love over the top violent movies like Peter Jackson's Brain Dead or Riki Oh, this movie is for you. Rating: 8.5/10

Bad Taste
Date: 10/13/2019 Viewed: Amazon Prime Re-watch Note: Bad Taste still kicks ass and it is my second favorite Peter Jackson movie next to Braindead (1992). The action, gore, and humor is over the top and awesome. This movie is so much fun to watch because the movie knows how to be funny and violent at the same time. I also love how this movie has that home video quality to it giving it that special charm. Not to mention, the movie has a fun cast of characters that are memorable in my opinion. Revisiting this movie makes me wish Peter Jackson will go back to his roots again (Even though it is never going to happen). Overall, Bad Taste is a non-stop thrill ride and it is worth checking out for anyone who loves trashy movies.

The Dead Zone
Date: 10/12/2019 Viewed: Starz Re-watch Note: Dead Zone still holds up and is very relevant in today's world. The story is fantastic because I love how this movie shows the dangers of politicians and that they could destroy the world if we vote for the wrong people. This movie is a non-stop thrill ride from start to finish. Christopher Walken and the other actors in this movie do a fantastic job as well. Another cool thing about this movie is how the story is told. It feels like they created a series of stepping-stones leading up to an epic ending. Overall, The Dead Zone is still fantastic and I highly recommend this movie if you never seen it before.

As Above, So Below
Date: 10/10/2019 Viewed: First viewing Netflix Note: I wanted to check out this movie for the last few years because I do remember seeing the trailers for this movie when it was coming out in 2014. 5 years later and I finally saw it on Netflix. I don't think this movie is as bad as the critics make it out to be, but it is still not a great movie. I thought the movie itself was very cool and I dig the idea of being trap deep underground to be scary. Who knows what really exist deep underground of the Catacombs of Paris. I even admit that even some scenes even creep me out a bit. The biggest issue of this movie to me was the characters and writing. The characters are pretty flat and the story was a bit predictable. I also think the ending could have been so much better as well. Overall, I had fun watching this movie. It's not a movie that I will own or watch again, but I think fans of found footage movies will enjoy it.

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Date: 10/9/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-watch Note: This movie is still a fantastic horror movie for being so dark, gritty, and raw. This movie still gives me the chills because they handle everything so realistically for the most part. Henry is a type of person that could easily exist in real life. The movie also does a great job on the other cast of characters because they feel so believable and you don't want to see them be killed. It is amazing how this movie is still stunning, terrifying and deeply unsettling after nearly 35 years later. This is not a film for the faint-off-heart and I only recommend it to anyone who enjoys violent horror movies or character study movies.

Audition
Date: 10/8/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray (Arrow Video) Re-watch Note: This movie never gets old when I always revisit it. I like that the movie is a slow burn and does a great job on building up the suspense. I love the layers of subtext and a study on dangerous love that this movie has. All the characters in this movie are likable and memorable in my opinion. Not to mention, some scenes in this movie are still nasty as hell even after 20 years later. This movie is not for everyone, but I do recommend it for anyone that likes Japanese cinema or violent horror movies.

Tigers Are Not Afraid
Date: 10/7/2019 Viewed: Shudder First viewing Note: I wanted to check out this movie after hearing good things about it and it did not disappoint me at all. I really like the characters in this movie and the harsh environment that they had to go through. The acting was fantastic and I love the visuals that this movie has. This is a type of movie that you should watch without reading spoilers because you will enjoy it more without knowing anything about the movie. I highly recommend this movie.
