Halloween
Date: 10/31/2019 Viewed: 4K UHD Re-Watch Note: I was going to see The Lighthouse, but the bad weather got in the way. So I decided to do the most cliche choice by watching Halloween on Halloween. The movie looks excellent in 4K UHD and is an improvement over the old HD transfers. I already talk about this movie last year on my 31 days of Horror, so I can't add anything new to say. If you haven't seen this classic yet, do it now. This is one iconic slasher movie will that never get old for me.

The Phantom Carriage
Date: 10/30/2019 Viewed: Criterion Channel Re-Watch Note: This movie is almost 100 years old and it's still a masterpiece. This movie has a very chilling story with a great atmosphere. The movie's themes are still relevant today with the dangers of using drugs and alcohol. I also love the music and the art direction that this movie has. If you haven't seen this movie, do it now. This is a classic movie that is worth seeing.

Dog Soldiers
Date: 10/29/2019 Viewed: Amazon Prime Re-Watch Note: This movie still holds up over 15 years later in my opinion. This movie is filled with great action and cool characters. The movie is pretty creative on the werewolf genre and the special effects in this movie still hold up. If you want a fun action horror movie, this movie is worth checking out.

Beyond Re-Animator
Date: 10/28/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: I haven't seen this movie since it came out back in the early 2000s and I still enjoy it. It's the weakest movie in the Re-Animator trilogy, but still a solid movie in my opinion. The special effects are not as good as the first two movies because this movie was made for TV, but they still look pretty good for the most part. Jeffrey Combs as Dr. Herbert West is still awesome as always and the other cast of characters are still pretty enjoyable as well. The story is pretty interesting seeing what happens to Herbert West after 1989. The movie did rehash some elements from the other two movies, but the story is still enjoyable nevertheless. The humor is pretty funny at times, but some of it did fall flat. Overall, Beyond Re-Animator is a fun sequel and I still wish they did more Re-Animator movies with Jeffrey Combs. If you enjoy the first two movies, you will like this movie as well.

Night of the Living Dead
Date: 10/27/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: I decided to revisit this remake because I haven't seen it in a long time (It was also on sale at Best Buy for $15). The original Night of the Living Dead is a way better movie, but this remake is still pretty solid. Tom Savini did a great job on updating the original movie into the modern world. The special effects and atmosphere are top-notch in my opinion. Both Tony Todd and Patricia Tallman did a great job on their roles in the movie. I also like how they made Barbara into a stronger female role for once. Everyone else in the movie did a pretty good job as well. I'm not a fan of some changes that they done to the story, but I don't consider that to be a bad thing. The movie would be boring if it was the same movie as the original, but with color and better special effects. Overall, the 90s remake of Night of the Living Dead is very good and it is worth checking out.

Wicked City
Date: 10/26/2019 Viewed: DVD (Discotek) Re-Watch Note: Wicked City is still one of my favorite anime movies in my opinion. It mixes body horror, romance, and sci-fi into one awesome movie. The characters are awesome and memorable in my opinion. I also love the story and the idea of two worlds trying to bring peace with each other. Also, the animation and atmosphere is fantastic as well. This is an animated movie that both David Cronenberg and John Carpenter would enjoy. I don't think this movie is perfect by all means because the movie has some stuff in it that does not make sense. I won't let that ruin my enjoyment when I watch this movie. I also don't consider this movie to be porn because the sex does not overshadow the plot. It's like saying Basic Instinct is porn because there's sex in it if you ask me. Overall, Wicked City is a fun horror anime for both fans and non fans alike.

Demons
Date: 10/25/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: This movie is always one of my favorite Italian horror movies to rewatch because it is so awesome. The movie has cool characters, kick-ass music, badass action sequences, and awesome gore. Not to mention, you also have amazing 80s rock and metal music from Mรถtley Crรผe and Billy Idol as well. The story is pretty nonsensical, but that does not matter with a movie like this. This movie is meant to be silly and over the top from start to finish. Overall, this movie is a nonstop thrill ride that is worth checking out.

One Cut of the Dead
Date: 10/22/2019 Viewed: Shudder First Viewing Note: I was quite eager to check out this movie after hearing great things about it. This movie was very funny, creative, and original for a zombie movie. The movie also has a great cast of characters that are pretty memorable. This is a movie that I highly recommend watching without reading anything or watching the trailers because you will enjoy it more if you don't. I knew nothing about this movie and it took me by surprise. So overall, I really enjoy One Cut of the Dead and I want to buy it on Blu-Ray soon. Check this movie out while you can.

Monster Party
Date: 10/21/2019 Viewed: Shudder First Viewing Note: I remember hearing about this movie when it came out last year, but I never saw it until now. I thought it was surprisingly good and I had a lot of fun watching it. The movie is not very original, but the movie has some really good death scenes in the movie. It was fun to see the over the top violence in this movie because the movie has some pretty good special effects. I also like the main cast of characters and I wanted to see them escape out alive. Overall, Monster Party is a fun horror movie and it is worth checking out if you want to turn off your brain for 90 minutes.

A Cat in the Brain (1990)
Date: 10/20/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: I haven't seen this movie since the early 2000s on VHS and I still like it. Not the best movie from Lucio Fulci, but it's still a lot of fun. This was one of Lucio Fulci's later movies before he died in the mid 90s and I consider this movie to be a tribute to all the awesome movies that he did back in the day. This movie is almost like a good-bye letter in a way. I can understand why people don't like this movie because it's not for everyone. You need some macabre sense of humor to get it or have seen several of Lucio Fulci's movies to understand the themes of the story. Overall, A Cat in the Brain is a lot of fun and I do recommend it if you are a fan of Lucio Fulci movies or if you like meta movies.

Antichrist
Date: 10/19/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: It's been 10 years since this movie came out and I still really like it. This movie is dark, twisted and wonderful at the same time. The atmosphere and cinematography are fantastic because everything in this movie is breathtaking. The movie makes you feel like that you are in the middle of the woods with these two characters. I haven't seen a movie that makes the wilderness feel scary since the original Evil Dead in my opinion. The lack of music makes this movie feel even more realistic and scary as well. Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg both do a great job in this movie playing two tragic and believable characters that are going through major anxiety. This movie is packed of symbolism of birth, death, parenthood, and religion that you will make you think after the movie is over. The movie has some gross scenes, but the movie is not a gore fest like some people make it out to be. Overall, Antichrist is a great movie and it is worth checking out if you like art house movies.

Creepshow
Date: 10/18/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray (Scream Factory special edition) Re-Watch Note: This movie is still one of the best horror anthology movies in my opinion. Unlike most comic book movies, this movie feels like an actual comic book coming to life. The special effects and the colorful lighting are fantastic to look at. The movie is very eye candy and that's not a bad thing because this movie is trying to be like a comic book, and they did a great job on it. All the stories in this movie are excellent and well-directed because there's not a single boring moment in this movie. I also love the animation bits of this movie and it almost made me wish that this was an adult animated movie instead. However, I still love how this movie turn out in the end. Overall, Creepshow is a great movie and I highly recommend it if you never seen it before.

American Psycho
Date: 10/17/2019 Viewed: 4K UHD Re-Watch Note: American Psycho looks amazing in 4K UHD as if I was watching it for the first time. Everything about this movie is fantastic from start to finish. The acting is fantastic and all the characters are great. Christian Bale plays an iconic villain role that is memorable, sick and even funny at times. Not to mention, I love how the movie is a satire of 80s American class politics. I also love how the story is up for interpretation on what really happened or not. The soundtrack for this movie is also great as well. Overall, American Psycho is still fantastic and this movie never gets old when I rewatch it. If you never seen this movie before, do it now.
