Mean Streets (1973)
Date: 4/7/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: Not Martin Scorsese's best movie, but still a solid movie. You can tell that Martian Scorsese has improved in the next few years when he does Taxi Driver later in the 1970s. I really like the characters in this movie and the story. The atmosphere in this movie is wonderful and makes you feel like you are living in the 70s. Overall, Mean Streets is a nice time capsule of the 1970s and it is always cool to see what Scorsese did before Taxi Driver. I recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Shazam!
Date: 4/6/2019 Viewed: In Theaters First Viewing Note: This movie was a mixed bag in my opinion. Some of the jokes and story moments made me cringe. The humor can be both funny and painful to sit through. Zachary Levi absolutely kills it as Shazam and the other cast members did a good job. I also feel like the run time for the movie is way too long. This movie didn't need to be over 2 hours long. It's not a terrible movie, but far from great.

Only God Forgives
Date: 4/1/2019 Viewed: Netflix First Viewing Note: People seem to hate this movie, but I really enjoy it. The movie is flawed, but I thought it was a interesting take on the revenge film genre. I thought the story was interesting and the pacing was perfect. The movie didn't seem to over stay its welcome or go by too fast. I also love the color scheme and the gritty atmosphere. This movie may not be for everyone, but I do think it is worth checking out.

Phantasm
Date: 3/30/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Rewatch Note: I decided to rewatch Phantasm for the 40th anniversary and the movie is still awesome. The disquieting atmosphere in this movie is top notch and it really helps make this movie feel scary. Tall Man is a great horror movie villain for how creepy and mysterious that he is. The acting in the movie is not that bad as well. I highly recommend this movie!

Enter the Dragon
Date: 3/29/2019 Viewed: Netflix Rewatch Note: Still a great classic after all of these years. The story is simple but memorable. The action is top notch and the movie's pacing goes by perfectly. Not much else to say about this movie other than it's a great classic. Check it out if you haven't seen it yet.

Baskin
Date: 3/28/2019 Viewed: Amazon Prime (Rental) First viewing Note: I was very impressed by this movie on how awesome it was. This movie has a likable cast of characters and the acting was very good. I love the atmosphere in this movie because the movie feels very dark and surreal at times. It can be very creepy and disturbing at times by not having any jump scares and knows how to use symbolism without feeling like major bullshit. The movie can be a total mindfuck as well. I highly recommend this movie!

If.... (1968)
Date: 3/27/2019 Viewed: Amazon Prime Re-watch Note: This movie is awesome and I enjoy every bit of this movie. I didn't like this movie the first time I saw it back when I was a teenager. Watching it now over a decade later, this movie has a lot to offer by having a great story and characters. I really like the movie's themes of social criticism and fantasy rebellion. I highly recommend this movie!

I Am a Hero (2015)
Date: 3/22/2019 Viewed: Amazon Prime (Rental) First viewing Note: Holy shit, this movie was awesome!! This movie does a great mix of action, horror, comedy, and drama into one. I really like the main characters and the development that they go through. This movie is over 2 hours and not a single moment is boring. While CG is a bit bad at times, the practical effects are great. This movie has some of the best gore in a zombie that I have seen in a long time. Sadly, this movie got overshadow by Train to Busan (Which is also fantastic, but still a very different movie) because they both came out the same year. Overall, I highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes zombie movies or horror action movies. I want to check out the manga now after seeing this movie.
