"Nice list as always. I put Time and Blow the Man Down on my watchlist. I also recommend checking out Black Bear which seems like a movie that would be up your alley."

Re-Watch
Note: I was in the mood to watch this movie and I haven't seen it in a while. Blind Woman's Curse is not as good as the other movies starring Meiko Kaji such as Lady Snowblood (1973), but it's still a very good movie in my opinion. Blind Woman's Curse does a good job of mixing action, horror, drama, and surrealism into one movie. You even have funny scenes that actually work and don't feel out of place. Meiko Kaji is a total beauty in this movie and she totally steals the show. The story in this movie is super interesting and not boring at all. I really like how they handle the characters in this movie and you get a really cool rivalry with the two rival gangs.
The action sequences are awesome and you get plenty of bloody moments that will make action movie fans happy. Blind Woman's Curse is not as extreme as some of the other movies from Teruo Ishii, but you do get some graphic scenes that may make some people feel uncomfortable. The last battle in the movie is epic and it is easily the best part of the movie. Teruo Ishii also did a great job of creating a movie that is under 90 minutes and it does not feel rushed at all. He was able to keep the story moving at a nice pace and told a good story from start to finish. Hajime Kaburagi (Bad Girl Mako) is able to create a chilling music score that is also noteworthy.
The only thing about this movie that I didn't like is that I feel like somethings were not fully explain. I still recommend Blind Woman’s Curse if you are into Japanese cinema. I'm glad that Arrow Video is releasing more of Teruo Ishii's stuff to the western market.

Re-Watch
Note: I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid and I recently bought the Scream Factory Blu-Ray on Amazon during their Cyber Monday sale. Orca is not my favorite killer animal movie from the 70s, but I still consider it to be a decent movie. Scream Factory did a wonderful job of restoring this movie in 1080p in my opinion. The clear and crisp picture makes the movie more stunning to watch. This movie has plenty of wonderful nature shots which almost feels like a nature documentary at times. Richard Harris (Harry Potter 1-2) and the other actors did a good job with their roles. You even get to see Bo Derek (Tommy Boy) in her first movie role too.
I do like the story because it tries not to be a total Jaws (1975) rip off. In this movie, you have an Orca that wants revenge after his female partner was killed by the main cast of characters. You almost feel bad for the Orca and I honestly like the Orca better than the main cast of characters. My biggest issue with this movie is that I never like the main characters that much. It was more fun to see the Orca trying to kill the main characters instead of seeing the main characters talking to each other. I do think the special effects are great and none of the scenes of the Orcas look fake in my opinion. The music score from Ennio Morricone (RIP) is wonderful because it sounds chilling at times. Ennio Morricone was able to create a creepy and fun music score without trying to rip off John Williams's score from Jaws.
Overall, Orca is a decent movie and I do recommend checking it out if you're curious.

Re-Watch
Note: I first watch this movie earlier in January and I absolutely loved it. Watching it again on a second viewing, I still love this movie. I don't think I can add anything new to say, so I will keep things short. This movie may not be 100% faithful to the real story, but I do think the message of the movie is still relevant to today's world. It's been 40 years since the Gwangju Uprising, and we still see similar riots in today's world. We can't forget about the past because many people were hurt and killed during the Gwangju Uprising.
I still highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet.

Note: I can't believe this movie was under my radar for so long because this movie was excellent. I really wish that I saw this movie on the big screen when it came out in 2013. This is probably my favorite Coen Brother movie of the 2010s in my opinion. I love the dark and cold winter atmosphere that this movie has because you can feel the chilly winter weather going down your spine. The cold weather helps represents the general tone of the story because this movie shows how unfair the world can be without being super dark and gritty.
This movie shows how Llewyn Davis (played by Oscar Isaac) never has any luck getting his music popular. Artists in real-life struggle almost every day to get their work recognized by other people. Llewyn travels across the country and he never gets his lucky break. He is always bumping into bad luck no matter where he goes. Not everyone can achieve their dream and that is the harsh truth of reality. I also love how the movie uses symbolism to represent the themes in the story. For example, the cat in the movie is obviously meant to show that life is changing around him and Llewyn finding a new cat is meant to show that he is trying to take the easy away out of life. The acting in this movie is fantastic and everyone did a wonderful job on-screen. I can't think of a single bad performance in this movie in my opinion.
Overall, Inside Llewyn Davis is a fantastic movie and I highly recommend it.

Note: I always wanted to see this movie for years now because it looks very interesting. Seeing that the movie is finally on Amazon Prime at the moment (As of 11/29/2020), I can finally watch this movie. After watching this movie for the first time, I did like it. Blood & Donuts is not the best vampire movie, but it's still entertaining. My favorite thing about this movie is the atmosphere because it has a grungy feeling to it. Everything about this movie has a dirty look to it and you can literally feel the dirt at Boya's (the main character) apartment. This movie almost has a similar vibe to other movies that I love such as Basket Case (1982) and Bad Boy Bubby (1993).
The story is far from perfect, but I do feel like they did a good job of creating a fun cast of characters. You have fun performances from everyone in this movie including a role from David Cronenberg (Yup, you heard that right). My biggest problem with this movie is that some plot threads in the story went nowhere. I still recommend checking this movie out. This movie feels like a perfect movie to be released by Vinegar Syndrome on Blu-Ray.

Note: I always wanted to check out this movie for years because I always hear amazing things about this movie. Not to mention, I do like movies by Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men and Gravity). Seeing that it is leaving Netflix soon (As of 11/27/2020), I decided to finally watch this movie. After watching this movie for the first time, I was let down by it. I really wanted to like this movie, but I didn't. Y Tu Mamá También is a popular classic movie and I do have a lot of respect for it.
I do think the acting is solid and I can see why many people love this movie. The reason why I didn't like this movie because I found it to be very boring. I could not get invested in the story and characters at all. Nothing about this movie really clicks with me. However, some of the humor did make me laugh at times. I still recommend watching this movie because you will probably like it more than I did.
